Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Denton has been recognized as a "stand-out" in the DFW area and state wide, along with national ranking for its quality outcomes and guest satisfaction. Below is a summary of the awards, accolades and achievements that the hospital has earned:

  • December 2017 — Received five stars, the highest possible rating, in the latest Medicare Overall Hospital Star Rating Program report released in December 2017, for Overall Hospital Quality. By earning five stars, the hospital is rated in the top eight percent nationally for overall quality.
  • ​November 2017 — Earned national recognition from Press Ganey®, the leading provider of patient experience measurement, for outstanding performance in patient experience. THHBD has received the Guardian of Excellence Award, which places the hospital in the top five percent in the nation for patient experience, based on one year of data. The hospital's Emergency Department received the Pinnacle of Excellence Award for patient experience, based on a full three years of data.
  • ​June 2017 — One of 28 physician-owned hospitals receiving 92 percent or more of their patients reporting on HCAHPS surveys that they would definitely recommend the hospital as reported by Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 72 percent.
  • ​May 2017 — Made Becker's Hospital Review and ranked in the 96 percentile for the top 44 hospitals patients would definitely recommend.
  • April 2017 — Received a Five Star Rating, the highest possible, for survey of patients' experiences (HCAHPS), according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) latest Hospital Compare star ratings. This rating is based on information from the CMS website for the time period between July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
  • April 2017 — Named by Healthgrades as one of the top hospitals for patient experience in 2017.
  • March 2017 — Listed as one of the 63 top hospitals for which 92 percent or more HCAHPS respondents reported their physician "always" communicated well. Information was pulled from Hospital Compare's most recent data from April 2015 through March 2016 according to Becker's Hospital Review. The national average rate for patients reporting their physician "always" communicated is 82 percent.
  • March 2017 — Quality Team won the People's Choice Award at the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) Conference. The team submitted an abstract and poster focusing on "Improving Discharge Medication Compliance and Documentation Across Multiple Registries."
  • January 2017 — Received recognition on Becker's Hospital Review for being in the "Top 57 Overall Patient Rated Hospitals".
  • Platinum Winner — 2017 Hermes Creative Award for the hospital's Outcomes Report, which offers outcomes data and hospital volumes by service line for calendar year 2016.
  • ​Gold Winner — 2017 Aster Awards for the hospital's 2016 Outcomes Report
  • Gold Winner — 2017 Aster Awards for the "Innovation & Quality" Video
  • July 2016 — Made Becker's Hospital Review for being in the "Top 55 Hospitals Patients Would Definitely Recommend".
  • October 2016 — Opened the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center as an outpatient department of the hospital.
  • September 2016 — Received the Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). This designation recognizes that nurses are key to quality healthcare.
  • August 2016 — Received Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC).
  • July 2016 — Received three-star quality rating, the highest possible, from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for isolated coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG).
  • July 2016 — Voted "Best Health Organization" by Denton County residents in the "Best of Denton County" annual poll.
  • July 2016 — Recognized as CNOR Strong by the Competency & Credentialing Institute.
